Mindy Curtis, PhD - Co-Founder, Artistic Director, President
Mindy Curtis is a teaching artist, director, deviser, educator, playwright, mother, wife, traveler, adventurer, dancer, runner, and knitter. Mindy has been a teacher, director, and administrator for theatre and arts education programs across the United States for over twenty years. Mindy holds her BFA in Theatre Education and BA in History Teaching from Utah State University, her MA in Theatre from Central Washington University, and her PhD in Education from The University of Idaho. She currently works for Canyons School District as an Arts Instructional Specialist working with the Beverly Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program. She lives in Taylorsville, Utah with her talented husband, two busy children, a Siamese cat, and an energetic labradoodle.
Zac Curtis, MFA - Co-Founder, Managing Director, Treasurer
Zac Curtis is an experienced director, actor, teacher, fight choreographer, and theatre artist. Zac has taught and directed college, high school, and non-profit theatre for more than twenty years. He holds a BA in Theatre Education from Colorado State University, an MA in Theatre from Central Washington University, and an MFA in Directing from the University of Idaho. He is a certified instructor of stage combat with Dueling Arts International. Zac has directed, produced, and choreographed theatre across the country for over twenty years at venues including Madison Children's Theatre, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Utah Opera, Idaho Repertory Theatre, and Pioneer Theatre Company. He is currently an Associate Professor of Theatre at Salt Lake Community College and a Clinical Instructor of Theatre at The University of Utah.
Amy Brown Coffin, MBA- Vice_President
Amy currently works as the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer for the Utah Inland Port Authority. Prior to her current role, she worked as a manager at American Express in audit and exam, compliance, internal control, operational risk, oversight and assurance, and third-party oversight roles. Brown Coffin also worked for the State of Utah in roles at Medicaid, the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the Department of Community Culture, and the Department of Community & Economic Development. In addition, she taught in higher education for 10 years as an adjunct instructor.She received her Master in Business Administration from Westminster College and a Master in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. She also has two bachelors of science degrees in Business Management and Information Systems from the University of Utah. In addition, she is a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional. She has appeared on the stages of CenterPoint Legacy Theatre, Grand Theatre, Hale Centre Theatre, Kingsbury Hall, Off Broadway Theatre, and other venues as an actress, dancer, and musician. She has also worked behind the scenes as a director, producer, music director, and sound designer.
Jordan Nelson, MA - Secretary
Jordan Nelson has been a theatre educator for 15 years. She holds a Bachelors in Theatre and a Masters of Teaching Fine Arts. She currently works in Canyons School District as a Drama Specialist. Prior to teaching in Utah she was the Executive Director for the Casper Children's Theatre in Wyoming.
Beth Anne Martin
Originally from Pennsylvania, Beth Anne has always loved the arts. From drawing and designing to being THAT KID who put shows on in the backyard-she loved it all! After many years of forgetting who she was, she enrolled in SLCC, took a basic drawing course and she never looked back. From there she went on to help with the sets in Herriman Arts summer production then back on stage as M’Lynn in Steel Magnolias. Although she has pivoted more to film, stage will always hold a very big place in her heart and is thrilled to be involved in Salt Lake Children's Theatre!
Erin McGuire, MA
Erin has taught and directed high school theatre for 26 years. She has taught at Riverton High School for the past 15 years. Erin has directed hundreds of students in dozens of plays, musicals, and competition pieces. Erin holds at Master's Degree in Theatre for Young Audiences from NYU. When not making theatre, she enjoys reading, traveling, and walking with her dog Boo.
